The Thamsar trek can be accessed anytime between last week -may and the first week-October. Starting May last week till the last week in October there is a high chance of witnessing heavy snow on the Pass and the Region of Kullu -Manali may face monsoon showers.
Thamsar Pass is basically a perpendicular cliff starting tall in the Ravi Valley sandwiched between the village of Holi and Bara Bhangal on either side. Frequently used by the local people to cross over to Bara Bhangal in Kangra valley from Kullu valley, The Thamsar Pass Trek proves to be an ideal gateway. the pass is also home to the Ravi River which is fed by many small streams rising on the slopes of the Bara Bhangal ranges.
